Hurricane Testing & Quality Assurance Certification
|
|
|
For over 30 years our skylights have been
tested by the most severe hurricanes and proven to stand up to winds in excess of
225 mph. Our extensive work throughout the hurricane prone areas of the Caribbean
and typhoon areas of Japan and the Philippines have proven our skylight systems
performance for decades prior to impact testing requirements. Recently, hurricanes
Charlie, Francis, Ivan, and Jean, impact tested our many projects in Florida and
they've performed extremely well.

Atrium Resort - St. Maarten
Our ridge skylight held up well to Hurricanes Luis and
Lenny, both extreme hurricanes with winds in excess of 200 miles per hour.

Radisson Hotel - Aruba
Our pyramid skylight was still under construction when
hit by Hurricane Lenny. There was no structural damage and construction was completed
on time.

In order to comply with the new building codes we have subjected a wide variety
of our skylight products and configurations to the Hurricane Test Protocols for
Florida and the High Velocity Hurricane Zones (HVHZ) such as Dade County Florida.
We consulted with the code officials from Dade County to determine the scope of
testing required to qualify the broadest range of skylight configurations as impact
tested. We now have the broadest range of fully hurricane tested skylights
in the U.S. We are tested for large and small missile impact.
